Military outstretch and prolonged occupation by the Hindu Indian state in Kashmir is taking its toll. Democracy is doomed. – Simranjit Singh Mānn
The Tribune Dated 05th March, 2021
Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that military outstretch and prolonged occupation of Kashmir as we wrote the other day is causing great pain in the Hindu Indian soldiery. Day in and day out the masses are told that Kashmir is an integral part of the Hindu Indian state.
With the barbaric law AFSPA (Armed forces special powers) in operation in Kashmir the armed forces have limitless powers to kill, maim, torture, molest, rape, kidnap, abduct, and detain a Kashmiri indefinitely, all with impunity. The Supreme Court which is the guardian of the Constitution refuses to declare the law AFSPA ultra vires the Constitution as it violates article 21 of his very Constitution.
Under these pressing circumstances the soldiers are forced to kill their own citizens which is taking a toll on the morality of the fighting force deployed in a Muslim majority state of Kashmir. Soldiers as reported in this news item are taking their own lives. Committing suicides is a cowardly act for men who bear arms. The Generals and their BJP- RSS bosses must see through such tragedies and return to democratic institutions which have all been abrogated.
Below we give a report from The Tribune dated 05th March, 2021 which states that it will take a while and maybe more, before democracy dawns on Kashmir. The report:
The Hindu Indian state should not take umbrage when OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) and Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) point out the failure and near demise of democracy in this majoritarian Hindu state.
Facta non Verba.
