Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that shooting down an officer by a soldier without provocation is a sign of fatigue and exhaustion in the Hindu states armed forces who have been deployed over three decades in Kashmir, which THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) claims it to be its territory, is causing a great deal of moral unrest in the armed forces. After all, if Kashmir is a part of the Hindu state then the soldiers are killing their own people, maiming, abducting, kidnapping, torturing and keeping in illegal detentions besides carrying out extra judicial murders, like in the case of village Chittisinghpura in Kashmir where the army shot down 43 innocent Sikh’s in cold blood, with impunity in 2000, on the eve of the then American President Bill Clinton’s visit. Such crimes have taken their toll and played on the soldier’s conscience. The generals commanding this force and their political leadership all the way up to Premier Narinder Modi know about the grave illegal trespasses, especially when they are aware of the Nuremberg Trials after World War II that killing unarmed civilians violates the Geneva Conventions of War and that all these acts are war crimes and crimes against humanity. Therefore, these crimes amounting to genocide are playing on the conscience of the Hindu leadership whether political, civil bureaucracy, judiciary, the military and the press that has sold its morality to the Hindu state.   Now that the Hindu state is besieged on its peripheral West, North and East by Communist China and Islamic Pakistan and does not have the wherewith all to meet the threat from three sides, its leadership down to the foot soldier is getting jittery at the horrendous crimes that the state has committed and as it happened to Nazi Germany, the day of reckoning is approaching, the morale of the armed forces that have ruled the roost by barbaric and cruel misdeeds, is falling.   It is not only Kashmir where such war crimes are taking place but earlier the Sikh’s have been subjected to the crime of genocide. These collective crimes against humanity are now taking their toll and hence the authority of the state is crumbling, as does of all authoritarian states, as we have seen through history.   The Hindu political leadership is so petrified of the external threat on two fronts that the Defence Minister has not ventured out of the security that Delhi provides him and remains boxed into his office, no leader of any sort has ventured out to the front to put heart into the soldiers to face the odds bravely as good soldiers must. The state is short of fighter planes, tanks, artillery and ammunition. The machines the state possesses are old, rusty, archaic and mostly imported and not easy to replace at such short notice. No foreign state has sided with the Hindu state and assured help and assistance to it in the hour of its need. Even the old ally Russia is quiet and watching the developments. Diplomacy has failed as the right wing ultra nationalist Hindu BJP-RSS with its leadership of Mohan Bhagwat and Premier Narinder Modi is arrogant, haughty and full of hubris. Pride cometh before a fall as they say.     We think it is still time to make peace with the Kashmiri Muslim’s and the Sikh’s as without internal peace and harmony it would not be possible for the Hindu state to meet the external threats to the very physical identity of the present geographical state.  Simranjit Singh Mann  (simranjitsinghmann@yahoo.com )
