Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that the Scottish leader Nicola Sturgeon should not lose heart and should carry on the struggle for independence. Such struggles are hard and painful. The English have always considered the Scots as their enemies. Shakespeare writes in his play Henry IV or V advising the English king that if he wants to fight the French then he should first begin with the Scots. Apart from the Scotch the Scots are a great warring race and fiercely independent. The Sikh’s never accept defeat and never give in. Our fates (with the Scots) by providence are attached.
