The Tribune 24 Febuary 2018
Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann:
Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that we think that Governor NN Vohra of Jammu & Kashmir is spreading himself out far too wide. Besides being the Governor he is also the Chairman of the Hindu Vaishno Devi Temple and apart from this he looks after the annual Amarnath pilgrimage. These activities are shunned upon when educated people say THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) is a secular state. If all this is not enough Governor Vohra in a silent and slimy manoeuvre, a coup chucked out Chief Justice S.S Sodhi form the chairmanship of The Tribune Trust and slipped himself into the Chairmanship of this trust. We do not know how, when he is the Governor of Kashmir where the army is going berserk killing, maiming, abducting, kidnapping, torturing, raping, detaining innocent Kashmiri’s, how he can find time in chairing debates in Delhi, after which The Tribune sings hallelujah’s to him. The Sikh’s have never forgotten that the army massacred 43 innocent Sikh’s in village Chittisinghpura of Kashmir. Our party has pleaded and requested the Governor times out of number to have these gruesome killings investigated, but in vain. We also state that The Tribune cannot remain impartial and neutral in journalism as long as Mr. Vohra stays as a Governor under BJP-RSS reins held by the right wing Hindu Premier Narinder Modi. In life one can’t have the cake and eat it as well.
