The Tribune 24th January 2018

Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar states that it is unfortunate that The Tribune is trying to whip up an extremist Hindu frenzy by carrying this advertisement of a fanatic Hindu priest Ramdev who has stated that he will chop off the heads of thousands of non Hindu’s who do not chant the Hindu slogan- Bharat Mata di Jai.
It is unfortunate as now The Tribune has fallen into the hands of radical Hindu’s and therefore is resorting to fundamentalism to recapture its circulation which has come down and the Hindustan Times claims that it is the number one in the Punjab and our region, as far as the circulation of English language newspaper are concerned.
A few months ago in a silent coup d’etat Mr. N N Vohra the Governor of Jammu & Kashmir and a staunch Arya Samagist Hindu replaced a Sikh Chief Justice S S Sodhi as the Chairman of The Tribune.
Now the fact is that Mr. Vohra as the Governor of Jammu & Kashmir heads the Vaishno Devi Hindu temple trust as he also organises the annual Hindu Amarnath Yatra, which as a public servant he cannot do as the constitution of THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) claims that India is a secular country.
The Tribune is meant to be a free and independent press body but with Governor Vohra who heads two religious trusts and is the Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, constitutionally is under the rule and control of the Union government in Delhi, ruled by the fascist Hindu political party the BJP-RSS, the freedom and independence of The Tribune now cannot be taken for granted.
Through Governor Vohra Premier Narinder Modi of the BJP-RSS is in a position to guide, influence, control and command the publication of The Tribune.
It is thus the fall of the oldest newspaper The Tribune into the hands of a Nazi like BJP-RSS party and organisation, which run the Union government of the Hindu state.
Our party which espouses the cause of a free and fair press is sorry to see the death of our oldest newspaper The Tribune.
Now we must bow our heads and sing Robert Browning’s poem- Auld Lang Syne to The Tribune.
