Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that the new uniform jackets introduced in the Punjab police look smart and modern. But the Punjab police being a disciplined force the rank and file are still wearing odd jackets of varying colours and shades. The turbans invariably have turned from the established khaki colour to beige as depicted below, which indicates a weakness in enforcing discipline in the force.
Here are the pictures of the rank and file in various patterns and colours of the uniform:

Torture and extra judicial killings are still in practise as we have seen in the Inderpreet Singh’s suicide case in which this Sikh was forced to commit suicide. Secondly in the Bathinda gangster case two young Sikh’s Manpreet Singh Manna and Prabhdeep Singh were shot dead by the police under the pretext that they were gangsters. They had stolen a SUV for which, if convicted by a court of law the punishment is a few years in jail but for this crime the law does not carry the punishment of death sentence.
Sometimes the Sikh’s are labelled as terrorists, radicals, extremists and hardliners and shot dead in extra judicial murders by the police and armed forces. The English press The Tribune, Hindustan Times, Indian Express and Times of India are responsible in labelling the Sikh’s in such derogatory terms forgetting that the Hindu’s have destroyed the Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) at Amritsar, Babri Masjid, carried out the massacre of Muslim’s in Gujarat in 2002 under the regime of then Chief Minister Narinder Modi who in the same capacity in 2013 carried out the ethnic cleansing of 60,000 Sikh farmers in Gujarat, all obviously with impunity as India is a Hindu majority state and they control the legislature, judiciary, executive and the press. We mustn’t forget the genocide of the Sikh’s in 1984 and thereafter and of course the massacre of 43 innocent Sikh’s by the army in village Chittisinghpura in Kashmir in 2000. All these racial and religious crimes have been committed by the Hindu’s with impunity. There is no sign of remorse or retribution by the Hindu state.
Inderpreet Singh’s suicide case all police officers who have forced this innocent Sikh to commit suicide must be booked under the concerned sections of the penal code.
