Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that the Government of Punjab should move the case to the Union Government to withdraw the medals of KPS Gill, former Director General of Police, Punjab, as he has suffered conviction in a shameless criminal case, a conviction up held by the Supreme Court in Delhi. If Pinky’s award has been taken back because of his conviction then under article 14 of the constitution the same rule applies to KPS Gill who besides this case Gill committed the genocide of the Sikh peoples and because it was done at the behest of the Hindu State, he was given total impunity as the army has been given in the present time in Kashmir where it is committing the genocide of the Kashmiris.
If the Punjab Government does not move a case for the cancellation of Gill's awards, then perforce our party will have to move for the cancellation of these awards to the High Court.
