Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that Sardar Bhagat Singh killed an innocent English police officer John Saunders and a baptised Sikh Head Constable Channan Singh, both of whom had nothing to do with the lathi charge made on the public consisting of freedom fighters. Is it right to kill innocent police officers?
We further ask whatever the ideology of Sardar Bhagat Singh and his two companions who were hanged with him was to rid India from British colonial rule and divide the spoils of this revolution into two separate independent sovereign states- one for the Hindu’s that being THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) and the other for the Muslim’s, that being Islamic Pakistan and leave the third component of the revolution, the Sikh’s, high and dry? The Sikh’s paid a heavy price in sacrifices serving long terms in prisons like Kalapani and mounting the gallows. The revolt of the Sikh Gadri Baba’s. The Gurudwara movement to rid the evil Hindu Mahants from occupying Sikh shrines. Were all these in vain? Will the honourable Lahore High Court ponder about these facts while it gives its decision on this case?
