Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann:
Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that the hoisting of the tricolour will only offend the Sikh’s as it does not represent them. The top saffron colour of the flag represents the Hindu’s. The white in the centre-the Jains. The circle in the centre-the Buddhists and the green colour underneath-the Muslim’s. The Muslim’s in Pakistan maybe enchanted when they see it but what happiness can it give the Sikh’s on whose land it will be hoisted. It is a sign that the Sikh’s have been colonised by the majority Hindu population.
