Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that we agree with the author’s assessment on the Al-Aqsa Mosque issue. Ours is the only party that took up the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992 issue seriously and we offered ourselves for arrest and were arrested in Uttar Pradesh. Then the extremist Hindu politicos of the BJP-RSS in tandem with the then Congress Premier Narsimha Rao were responsible for destroying this historic and religious edifice.
We also take the issue of Kashmir seriously and we are against the abolition of the unique constitutional position of Kashmir and the atrocities being perpetrated by the Hindu state and its armed forces. We are also aware that the daily killings by the armed forces are defined by the Hindu states press as encounters, though no legal body ever inquires into these, whether they are extra judicial murders or genuine encounters. The Tribune and other English language newspapers never make a distinction between genuine and fake encounters.
But our party has a bone to pick with the Palestinian Authority as its leader Yasser Arafat justified the military action of Premier Indira Gandhi into the Sikh’s holiest place of worship the Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) at Amritsar in an ingress, code named Operation Bluestar of 1984. In this barbaric assault the military assassinated all our new leadership headed by Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala.
Suffice it to say that our party is aware that THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) takes advice from Israel and its Mossad in how to deal with the Kashmir issue. Senior army officers of Israel have also visited Kashmir to give their advice and lately the Hindu state wants to settle Hindu’s in Kashmir, a policy of a change in demography in the same way as the Israeli’s have settled Jews in Palestine territories and similar to the Chinese settling the Hans in Tibet for the same purpose. In our Sikh Homeland the Hindu state is following the same policy as the Israeli’s and Chinese follow respectively to replace the original inhabitants. Therefore no one can say that we support the Hindu states close liaison with Israel though we sympathise with the Jews on the issue of their genocide by the Nazi regime. But we expect a quid pro que from the Palestinians and the Israeli’s.
Since Mr. Hasan Suroor is a London based journalist and well versed in Middle-East politics we want to know whether Indira Gandhi during her father’s time developed a close relationship with Egypt’s President Nasser. Maybe, this began on Marshal Tito’s personal island in the Adriatic Sea, where Nehru and Nasser were his guests.
