The Tribune Dated 16th July, 2020
Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that after the meeting of Lt. General Harinder Singh with the Communist Chinese Commander Major Genera Liu Lin yesterday( 15th July, 2020), the picture remains very hazy as there is no reporter on the ground to report the conditions that prevail on the ground.
Meeting of Lt. General of the Hindu Indian state with his PLA counterpart Major General seems strange as the Communist Chinese are trying to offend the Hindu state by sending a Junior Officer to deal with a senior rank officer of the Hindu state. It means that THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) has accepted the hegemony of Communist China. What would happen, we ask, if a Brigadier level officer of the Hindu state was sent for a meeting with Major General Liu Lin next time? We think the Communist Chinese would receive the Brigadier, entertain him and only talk about the weather in Ladakh.
We were told that Communist China captured one Colonel, three Major’s and six soldiers. But we have not learnt how they were treated and what strategic information they gave to the PLA.
From these reports it is clear that the PLA continues to occupy the ridge line beyond Finger – 4 and therefore, the Hindu states force cannot patrol to the Depsang plains and therefore the important military post of the Hindu state Daulat Beg Oldie and the Karakorom Pass also lie in danger.
Apart from this, though the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is due to visit Ladakh and may be talk to the soldiers, we want to ask him about the 20 soldiers that laid down their lives on 15th and 16th June, 2020, why they were ordered to fight the Communist Chinese without arms? Why, of them two soldiers were from the artillery who have no training in hand to hand combat. Did the four Sikh soldiers amongst them who laid down their lives were armed with their 8 Inch Kirpan, which is worn on the belt or it is held by a baldric (see article 25 of the Constitution). We also ask why these slain soldiers in battle have not received the same benefits as were given to the soldiers who fell in the Kargil Battle?
Since Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is visiting the, still we think, a simmering battle field, why the Union Home Minister Amit Shah who commands the ITBF has not ventured out to meet his troops who are posted on the highest peaks? We think he should pick up courage and try and inspire the brave men atop the peaks.
In the end no one in the Union Government is clarifying whether the LAC is or the McMahan Line of 1913- 14 is the border between THIS and Communist China? The RSS and its leadership is shying away to go to the LAC to cheer the soldiers, but they must, as they will lose much of their weight which they have put on, preaching ill-will towards the minorities, schedule castes and the Tribal’s or aborigines.
Facta non Verba.
