Centre’s invitation to Punjab Farmers for talks. Punjab Farmers and our Party want talks with Political heads, not bureaucrats. – Simranjit Singh Mānn
The Tribune dated 12th October, 2020
Shriomani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that our Party welcomes the Union Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Agarwal’s invitation for talks, inviting the Farmer Union’s to Delhi.
Our Party’s stand has always been that we must hold talks with the Union but not at the level bureaucrats, as Secretary of Agriculture Mr. Sanjay Agarwal has written to the farmers for talks.
We hold that such talks should always be held at the Political level and not with bureaucrats as they are not empowered to take decisions. As such these vital talks must take place with Prime Minister Nerandra Modi. We say that in the recent years the industrial and trade sectors of the economy have failed. The recent legislations of the BJP – RSS concerning the farm sector, such as:
1) The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price assurance and farm services Bill – 2020.
2) The Farmer Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitations) Bill – 2020.
3) The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill- 2020.
– have been drafted on the experience of the BJP – RSS party, which is an urban based and traders cum industrialists party and organization. Therefore, the BJP – RSS has drafted and legislated these Bills concerning the farm sector, knowing very well that those sectors of economy which this party and organization represents has miserably failed in this very sector of the economy. If the economy presently is somewhat alive, it is due to the consistent production of the farm sector, which has withstood the vagaries of the weather, floods, storms, earthquakes and droughts and shall we add the pandemic Covid – 19. The farmers and the labourers and their respective families have withstood all these natural disasters and calamities, but produced a bumper harvest.
The Political leadership must also understand that its armed forces (elite ones) are mostly recruited from the rural and farm sectors.
Communist China has made further intrusions into Ladakh, which it could not have made, if the Union Governments post 1962 had prepared to meet the Communist Chinese in April this year. This disaster is also due to the fact that Union Governments since then invest more in the urban, trade and industrial sectors.
Though more resources go to the urban trade and industrial sectors, these sectors have failed in producing indigenous defence and military weapons. The condition is so shameful, for which our Party says that instead of registering cases of sedition against the poor victims of rape in the Hathras Case, the Governments and Ministers post 1962 should face criminal cases of sedition, betrayal and connivance with powers that have sold weaponry since then.
The situation in the defence industrial sector is so poor and disgusting that the Union BJP – RSS Government has placed orders for 72,400 infantry rifles from an American Firm – SiG Saure. If after 1947, when Israel and Communist China came into being in 1948, can produce along with the countries whose military defence sectors were totally destroyed by World War II (1939 – 1945), we see no reason why the Hindu state whose industrial sector was not destroyed by the Second World War, should have lagged behind?
The fact is that the greed of the bureaucrats, politicos and the military wing are responsible for the collapse of the military industrial sector. Our Party has no shame in stating that all those responsible for today’s debacle in the urban, trade and industrial sector have all been playing pocket billiards and they must face cases of criminal neglect, corruption, connivance amounting to conspiracy, fraud and cheating.
We recommend that the farmers meeting with Premier Nerandra Modi under these circumstances must take place as the farm sector has driven the economy and not the urban, trade and industrial sector which has drafted the present farm laws which the farmers are not accepting.
The meeting with Prime Minister is important as meetings with bureaucrats and Intelligence Bureau cannot succeed as these two institutions, no matter how good, are incapable in taking decisions which will bear fruit or succeed. For instance the Naga leadership, despite our Party’s caution has carried on talks with Intelligence Bureau officers. The interlocutor Mr. RN Ravi of the IB (Intelligence Bureau), presently holding the post of Governor has not been able to deliver an accord with the Naga’s. Our Party holds that bureaucrats and intelligence Agencies cannot take decisions or deliver.
Therefore, from experience our Party states that the Union Agriculture Secretary cannot take decisions on opposing the urban, trade and industrial sectors made by the BJP – RSS on the farm sector. Therefore, what will the Farm Unions achieve unless they hold talks with Premier Nerandra Modi who can take political decisions and deliver on the issue of rural and farm sector?
