At last the Supreme Court rises to the occasion and stands up for the suffering farmers. A lot needs to be done to make us feel confident that the judiciary is serious about its duty, as per the Constitution. Simranjit Singh Mann.

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that our party feels that this is the first time in its history that the Supreme Court has thought about the safety and prosperity of the rural population and the farmers. This is the only sector that has proved beneficial to the economy. Other wise the Supreme Court has never thought of the brutal excesses of the Hindu Indian state in dealing with the Minorities, Schedule Castes and Advisis or Tribal’s. The beastly Operation Bluestar of 1984 or the genocide of the Sikh peoples ordered by Premier Rajiv Gandhi, a part of it which was perpetrated in front of the Supreme Court in Delhi, or the Asian Games in 1982 when Indira Gandhi’s Man Friday Bhajan Lal of Haryana committed massacres of Sikhs, or the year 2002 massacres of Muslims perpetrated by the then Chief Minister Narinder Modi, or the destruction and vandalism of the 16th century Islamic Babri Masjid in 1992, or the massacres of 43 innocent Sikhs in Village Chitthi Singhpura in Kashmir in 2000 by the army, or the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A of the Constitution of Jammu & Kashmir, or operation of the barbaric law AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act) under which the security forces are empowered to kill, maim, kidnap, abduct, murder, rape, molest, torture, detain any person for an endless time, are all crimes committed with impunity, though this act contravenes Article 21 of the Constitution, or legislations like CAA, NRC, NPR, under which Muslims are detained in a mass amounting 19 lac and 60 thousands in Asaam, or the massacres of Muslims in Delhi when President Donald Trump visited Delhi last year and there is a long list of crimes committed by the state, which would take time to enumerate, which can be tabulated if the Supreme Court appoints a commission to probe these excesses which the Supreme Court and the National Commission of Human Rights has failed in adjudicating, then our party would think that justice is being done and carried out in the manner and purpose in which the Constitution was framed and the laws should be executed. Our party must state truthfully that the organs for justice have not performed their duty and Chief Justices of the Supreme Court like Mr. Gogoi have accepted a sinecure from the BJP-RSS Union Government for declaring the Islamic Babri Masjid as a Hindu Temple. This about takes the cake. There is a need as Jesus Christ said Physician heal thyself. Our party is sad in making these remarks but all ranks of the judiciary need to be reflective on their work and duty since 1947.
