For Ribeiro his chickens have come home to roost. – Simranjit Singh Mann

The Tribune dated 03rd June 2022

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that referring to Mr. Julio Ribeiro’s article in The Tribune dated 3rd June, 2022, I am happy to report that at last for Mr. Ribeiro the chickens have come home to roost.
He was far too senior to me in the Indian Police Service and he had been engaged by the Union of India to head the Punjab Police after the bloody Operation Bluestar in which the stateless Sikh’s were militarily attacked by Hindu India’s army in conjunction with the armies of Soviet Russia and Britain.
That year in 1984 the Hindu Indian state committed the genocide, memoricide, vandalism and ethnocide of the Sikh peoples.
I was then in 1984 posted as an IPS Officer at Bombay where Mr. Rebeiro as the Commissioner of Police had gained a good reputation of dealing with gangsters and hoodlums engaged in extortion rackets.
The then Union Government of India thought that such a Police Officer who could fight gangsters and extortionists could then be engaged in fighting the Sikh’s in the Punjab and the Hindu Indian state.
Mr. Julio Rebeiro’s inflated ego made him to take up the task and he came to the Punjab to deal with the Sikh’s and boosted the morale of the majoritarians by his famous words – bullet for bullet.
As Director General of Police of the Punjab he bonded with the Deputy Home Minister of the Punjab Kawaljeet Singh. Both found a novel manner in mounting a helicopter and flying it above the marshy river beds of the Punjab, looking for Sikh freedom fighters and trying to gun them down, if an opportunity came their way. But his measures which he had learnt in encountering gangsters, extortionists and racketeers in Bombay failed to deal with the Sikh freedom fighters.
Eventually as a reward for conducting extra judicial murders of the Sikh’s the Union Government posted him as Ambassador to Romania. But the Sikh’s kept at his heels and tried to have a pot shot at him in that country. He survived. But also begged for pardon from the Sikh’s.
Now when the BJP – RSS Union Government led by Premier Nerandra Modi has in its wickedness begun preying on Christians and in Mr. Rebeiro’s words begun thinking of Christians Churches built by Portuguese, what the radicalised BJP – RSS carders believe on the ruins of Hindu Temples, like the demolition of Islamic Babri Masjid in 1992 by LK Advani, Joshi and other radicalised Hindutva leaders, now it turns out on their menu are Christians Churches, which had earlier been demolished by these very vandals in Karnataka, Kerala and other states, Mr. Ribeiro, a devout Christian, all this has got his goat.
Mr. Ribeiro must recall that when he was Commissioner of Police in Bombay and I was an IPS Officer posted there I resigned from this service in protest of the Hindu Indian state military attack on the stateless Sikh’s, defiling their most sacred shrine the Darbar Sahib (The Golden Temple Amritsar) in an ingress code named Operation Bluestar of 1984.
Mr. Ribeiro must recall as Commissioner of Police of Bombay how he had my family hounded, put under surveillance and having them report at Police stations. Then in 1984 it was just my young wife, my three young children and the youngest Nanki Kaur was just four and half years old.
For Mr. Ribeiro in his old age the chickens have come home to roost. Should have taken on the minority Sikh’s who to this day feel unsettled and as I learn keep Mr. Ribeiro and his family in a heightened fright.
Now I hope Mr. Ribeiro will know why I resigned from the Indian Police Service.
