Dear Sir

Fateh

This letter to you is regarding your Editorial captioned – “Envoy Targeted”. In this respect we wish to state that nobody targeted S. Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Hindu India’s Ambassador to the United States.

The Sikhs gathering in the Gurdwara targeted Hindu India and coincidently there was a Sikh Ambassador, who went to pay tribute to Guru Nanak Sahib on his birth anniversary.

S. Taranjit Singh Sandhu, his family is an honoured Sikh family and the SGPC (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee) building is named after Taranjit Singh Sandhu’s grandfather S. Teja Singh Samundri.

It was a peaceful protest which is a right in a democracy. The USA is a democratic country.

As regards the editor’s views about protesting in a Gurdwara and calling it an “auspicious and pious occasion”. A peaceful protest cannot be condemned and the past editor Prem Bhatia who along with Giri Lal Jain of the Times of India, Arun Shorie of the Indian Express and Lala Jagat Narain compelled the Hindu Indian state, under Premier Indira Gandhi to attack militarily the stateless Sikhs and pull down their sacred buildings in the Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) complex in an attack code named Operation Bluestar of 1984.

That day 06th June was the martyrdom day of Guru Arjun Sahib, when a large Sikh congregation was present to pay homage to Guru Arjun Sahib and his martyrdom. In this Operation the Hindu Indian state committed the genocide, memoricide, vandalism and ethnocide of the Sikh peoples.

The editor of The Tribune insists on calling S. Hardeep Singh Nijjar a “designated terrorist” but S. Nijjar has never been tried or convicted for any act of terror. This is an outrageous charge by the editor Mr. Rajesh Ramachandran.

Our party agrees that the UK based High Commissioner Mr. Vikram Doraiswami should not have been stopped from visiting the Gurdwara at Glasgow as Guru Arjun Sahib had built four doors at the Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple), which means that irrespective of caste, colour, creed, nationality and religion any person could pay obeisance at the Darbar Sahib or any other sacred Gurdwara of the Sikhs.

Lodging and food is also offered to any visitor who comes to pray at these sacred places of worship.

Our party is aware of the anti-Sikh mind of Mr. Rajesh Ramachanran editor of The Tribune, who twists words to incriminate and demonise the Sikhs.

As Canada has charged the Hindu Indian state of assassinating a Sikh Canadian citizen, so is the USA investigating the plans of the Hindu Indian states to assassinate an USA Sikh citizen Gurpatwant Singh Pannu.

As such if the Hindu Indian state has bloodied its hands in the blood of the Sikhs, then we expect that the Hindu Indian state owns up for these dastardly assassinations in Islamic Pakistan of Parmjit Singh Panjwar, Avtar Singh Khanda in the UK and at home here in Haryana of Deep Singh Sidhu and Subhdeep Singh Sidhu Moosewala in the Punjab.

Instead of blaming Western democracies for opening up assassination cases of Sikhs, the Hindu state would do well if it called Sikh leadership and talked about these barbaric and horrific assassinations of Sikhs abroad and here. Thanking you.

With regards,

Yours Faithfully,
Simranjit Singh Mann,
